JCR-wide events!

BOPs are college wide parties which are usually held in the JCR space. They happen 2-3 times a term and always involve a fun dress theme! They are organised by our brilliant social secs!

These are very varied and always fun! They change from year to year and term to term. Some examples over this past year have been Lunar New Year, Pride Month, Black History Month and many religious celebrations. These are organised by the Equal Ops subcommittee or/and the Social Secs.

These usually happen once a term, and are organised by our Charities Rep. Past success include Charaoke nights (Karaoke fundraisers in the college bar)!

Queen, Amy Winehouse, Jazz- these are just a few examples of the themed music nights that happened recently. In the Jesus Bar, all sorts of music is performed and celebrated- and everyone can take part or just listen!

There’s weekly welfare tea and yoga, but where the magic really happens with welfare is 5th week. We call this ‘welfare week’ and it involves ‘welfairies’- when you can send anyone anonymous chocolate or sweets, as well as a visit from alpacas and other cute animals. This is totally free and is arranged by our welfare reps!

There are naturally more of these in Trinity because of the good weather- we have an annual Garden Party in Stevens, a Boathouse Party in the Jesus Boathouse, welfare picnics and more. We don’t let the bad weather stop us though- we recently took a trip ice skating as well!

At the end of Michelmas Term (the winter term). This is a black tie event and the highlight of the term for many! It’s a great opportunity for freshers especially - to celebrate the end of their first term here.

Usually called Cock Dance (which always gets a few laughs), this happens at the end of Hilary, the second term. Again, it’s black tie and it’s great fun!

Summer Soirée provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate the end of the year- and the end of exams! You can see the delicious chocolate fountain we had last year. You know the drill, black tie !
